I love to travel – it’s my passion. Even more, my wife Pam and I love to take tours to places that are significant to Christians. We would love for you to join us.
Since we take only one bus on our tours our groups are limited to a maximum of 46 people. We bond together as a family
while we travel and “have church” every mile of the way. Our tours are currently scheduled through 2010. Click on each tour
and add your name to our signup list. There is no obligation and as the dates draw closer, you will have the “right of first refusal”
to join us on one of our exciting adventures.
Passion Play Tours 2010 - Germany and Austria
Monday, September 06, 2010 to Saturday, September 18, 2010
Duffy and his lovely wife Pam, promise you 12 days of a wonderful adventure during the “Passion Play Tour” of 2010. Pack your bags and join them for this wonderful travel opportunity!
The tour is actually four tours in one. We begin in the Northern region of Germany for "History of the Reformation" where we will visit some of the most significant places in the life of the Reformer, Martin Luther. We will gaze in awe at the inspiring Castle Church with its historic Theses Door and the magnificent Wartburg Castle where Luther translated the Bible from Latin to German. Next, as we travel to the wonderfully diverse city of Berlin is our "History of Germany" which will include both World Wars and the Cold War. Then begins the "Scenic Tour", traveling south off the beaten path and through some of the most charming well-preserved, medieval towns in Europe. We visit the “land of wine and beauty” in the heart of the Franconian wine country then relax as we cruise along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube River, followed by a scenic drive through the lovely landscapes of the magnificent Austrian Alps to Salzburg, “The City of Mozart”. It is here we will also visit "Eagles Nest"-Hitler's Alpine getaway. Our tour includes a stay in the breathtaking Bavarian Alps, with plenty of time to embrace the panoramic vistas in the peace and tranquility that surrounds us. And finally the fourth component and reason for the pilgrimage is the "Passion Play" in Oberammergau. The play began in the 1600's and is now only performed once a decade with years ending in zero. Yes, my friend, the next play will not be until 2020! From palaces in Potsdam, the spectacular beauty of rivers, lakes and gardens, the Castle Neuschwanstein of Mad King Ludwig to the Passion Play", we are certain this will be a “once-in-a-lifetime” unforgettable experience for all!
